Vincent Williams
VP of Transits Fixed Routes, Para Transit ADA,
Shops, Fuelers & Utilities
U.S. Army Veteran · 1986–1992
A Leader Shaped by Service and the Shop Floor
Vincent Williams is not a career politician. He is a worker, a veteran, and a union leader who has spent his life standing up for others. In uniform and on the job, his focus has always been the same: serve with integrity and never walk away from a fight that matters.
After honorably serving six years in the United States Army (1986–1992), Vincent came home and went to work. He joined Transport Workers Union Local 252 and, like so many members, he started on the floor. Through hard work, reliability, and a deep belief in what a strong union can do for working families, he earned the trust of his coworkers and rose into leadership.
Today, as Vice President of Transits Fixed Routes, Para Transit ADA, Shops, Fuelers, and Utilities, Vincent helps oversee some of the most essential and diverse divisions in Local 252. He has been at the table in critical moments — pushing back against management overreach, defending workers' rights, and ensuring the contract is respected in practice, not just on paper.
Now, Vincent is ready to take the next step. As President of Local 252, he will bring the same discipline, calm under pressure, and member-first mindset that have defined his career. His commitment is simple: every decision will be guided by what is best for the members and their families.
Journey
His Path to Leadership
Joined TWU Local 252
Vincent began his career with TWU Local 252 in 1990, working in the school bus division of STS. He quickly earned respect through hard work and a willingness to speak up when something wasn't right — learning the union, attending meetings, and voicing concerns for his future and his family's. In 1992, he transferred to Fixed Route in the transit division to provide more for his family.
Shop Steward — Lead Steward
Asked to become an assistant shop steward in 2001, Vincent entered a mentorship program to sharpen his ability to fight for members. By 2011, he was elected Lead Shop Steward — the person members turned to when they faced problems on the job. He represented coworkers in meetings with management, enforced the contract, and made sure no one had to face difficult situations alone.
Elected Vice President
Members elected Vincent as Vice President of Local 252, where he has negotiated on behalf of workers, helped resolve disputes, and worked to strengthen the union from within — all while continuing to drive a transit route.
Running for President
Now Vincent is stepping up to run for President of Local 252, ready to put his experience, integrity, and steady leadership to work for every member of the union.
Core Values
What Drives Him

A union president works for the members. Vincent supports transparency in decisions, open communication, and being accessible and answerable to every person in Local 252.
Unity
A strong union is a united union. Vincent is committed to bringing members together — across divisions, locations, and job titles — so that when we stand up, we stand up as one.
